Who we are

Rockwall Weekly is a free local newsletter published by Bit Thicket, LLC, a Texas limited liability company doing business as Rockwall Weekly. Questions: hello@therockwallweekly.com.

What we collect

Why we collect it

To send you the newsletter, to send texts or WhatsApp messages if you opted in, to keep a record of your consent, to see which stories readers find useful, and to show sponsors overall numbers (like total subscribers or total clicks), never your personal details.

Who processes it

We use Kit (kit.com) to store our subscriber list and send email. Kit handles your information on our behalf. Phone numbers are stored with Kit as well. When our text program launches, phone numbers of people who opted in will be used with a text messaging provider only to send those texts.

Mobile phone numbers

We use your number only to send the Rockwall Weekly texts you agreed to. Reply STOP to any text to stop them. See our SMS Terms.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS or WhatsApp opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

WhatsApp

If you opt in to WhatsApp, we’ll use your number to send you Rockwall Weekly messages on WhatsApp. WhatsApp is operated by Meta (WhatsApp LLC), and messages sent through it are subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy. When we launch WhatsApp messages, your number will be shared with WhatsApp/Meta and a messaging provider only to deliver them. Opt out anytime by replying STOP or emailing hello@therockwallweekly.com.

We don’t sell your information

We do not sell your personal information. Our emails include content from local sponsors, which is labeled. We do not give your email address or phone number to sponsors.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses no advertising trackers or analytics scripts and sets no cookies of its own. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process basic technical data like IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from email anytime with the link at the bottom of every issue. To have your information deleted or to ask what we hold, email hello@therockwallweekly.com and we’ll take care of it.

Children

Rockwall Weekly is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell subscribers about significant changes.
